Modern
Modern is a non-rotating format featuring sets from Eighth Edition (2003) forward. Known for its high power level and diverse metagame, Modern rewards players who master their favorite deck over time while offering a wide variety of competitive strategies.
Modern was created in 2011 as a non-rotating format using the modern card frame introduced in Eighth Edition. It quickly became one of Magic's most popular competitive formats.

- Minimum 60 cards in main deck
- Up to 15 cards in sideboard
- Maximum 4 copies of any card (except basic lands)
Gameplay
Mulligan Rule
Draw 7 cards. You may mulligan any number of times, drawing 7 each time. After keeping, put cards equal to the number of mulligans taken on the bottom of your library.
